In this course we will learn that the discovery of quantum mechanics was nearly a total surprise. It described the physical world in a way that was fundamentally new. By the early 1930s the application of quantum mechanics to problems involving nuclei, atoms, molecules. Quantum mechanics has survived every experimental test thus far of even its most unexpected conclusions. In this course we shall see how these results can be interpreted in terms of familiar concepts.
