The Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) is mainly an adjective law of Procedure. The purpose of the Sanhita is to provide machinery for prosecution, trial, and punishment of offenders under the substantive criminal law. i.e., the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and other laws passed by the State from time to time.
