COURSE OUTCOMES:
CO1: Understanding the fundamental concepts of business research, the research process, and the formulation of research problems and hypotheses.
CO2: Applying different research designs, including exploratory, descriptive, experimental, and survey methods, to address specific research questions.
CO3: Evaluating various measurement methods and scaling techniques, and assessing the reliability and validity of research instruments.
CO4: Analyzing quantitative data using statistical packages and applying appropriate parametric and non-parametric tests for hypothesis testing and drawing inferences.

UNIT I: INTRODUCTION [9 Sessions]
Business Research, Meaning and methods of research, Research process, Identification and formulation of Research problem
UNIT II: RESEARCH DESIGN [9 Sessions]
Research Design: Variables and types of variables, Hypothesis, Types and formulation of Hypothesis, Research Design and Types of research designs, Need for Research Design Features of a good research design and, Different research design- Exploratory, Descriptive, Experimental
UNIT III: MEASUREMENT METHODS [9 Sessions]
Interviews and Surveys, Observation and Measurement Scales, Techniques of Developing Scales, Reliability and Validity of scales
UNIT IV: SAMPLING [9 Sessions]
Basic Concepts: Defining the Universe, Concepts of Statistical Population, Sample, Characteristics of a good sample. Sampling Frame (practical approach for determining the sample frame expected), Sampling errors, non-sampling errors, Methods to reduce the errors, Probability and Non-Probability Sampling Methods
UNIT V: DATA ANALYSIS & REPORT WRITING [9 Sessions]
Editing, Coding, Classification & Tabular representation of data, Hypothesis: Qualities of a good Hypothesis –Framing Null Hypothesis & Alternative Hypothesis. Concept of Hypothesis Testing – Logic & Importance. Analysis of Variance: One way Classification. Mechanism of Report Writing- Report
Preparation: Types, Report Structure: preliminary section, main report, interpretation of results, suggestions and recommendations & limitations of the study
